VN Preflight — Local QA for Ren'Py Projects

Release QA without an install, account, or upload

VN Preflight checks a Ren'Py project for release hygiene across scripts, screens, assets, and translations. Its narrow focus is the cross-file problems that are tedious to review by hand: translation parity, protected tokens, screen literals, release markers, referenced media, and static label targets.

Choose your project folder in a current desktop browser. The scan stays on your computer. You get a prioritized report you can filter, search, and export for your team.

Private by design

There is no server component, account, analytics, or network request. Your selected project files are read locally by your browser and are not uploaded by VN Preflight.

Simple workflow

1. Download and extract the ZIP.

2. Open index.html in a current desktop browser.

3. Choose the folder containing your Ren'Py game/ directory.

4. Fix errors first, then review warnings.

5. Export the report when you want to share findings.

Honest scope

VN Preflight is a static preflight assistant. It complements Ren'Py's built-in Lint command and real playtesting. It does not execute Ren'Py code and cannot prove that a release is bug-free.

Version 0.1.1 is the first public release. If a finding looks wrong, include the exported report and a small redacted script sample in your support message. Do not send private project files unless you intend to.

AI disclosure

The product code, tests, listing copy, and cover were developed with AI assistance and human ownership. VN Preflight itself does not use an AI model and does not send project content to an AI service.
